Living Headless took the cold months off.  From practicing to playing out.  None of us are winter type people and we needed to relax after partying and playing way too hard with our good friends from Shadows Inc, likely the next band out of Peoria to hit it huge.  They are soo good, and have given us fuel to move people the way they do.

But all of us felt that the winter months should be a battery of sorts...a depression aided, frozen hurricane soup that recharged our music inspiration.  Its working.  All of us cant wait to get back together.  But we wait.

We spent this time going into the studio separately to re-work various parts on the album.  I feel like an old fucking man now.  There are alot of bands who drink and dream (us included), but really, that's not what it takes.  We lost hundreds in cash spending time doing what we thought was right.  Much maturity has happened since that day we dared to pursue ourselves musically.  None of us look at the industry the way we once did.  Our eyes have changed, and our guitars are sharper.  We learned that not everyone achieves success along the same road.

We get by with a little help from our friends.  We have been sponsored by a local studio, Chocolate Ladyland, who we hired to produce the upcoming 14-song freshman album.  The album, which has taken months to write and mix will be finally be Mastered in Chicago at the end of Feb.  This feat is not our swan song, more is yet to come...But dont expect to see LH until the snow melts...

From horny agents in Los Angeles to drunken bar owners in Champaign, our road just opened up.

See you soon at the CD release party.

Alexandra postponed her trip to Romania which gives us an opportunity to use the fall for focusing on the new set of songs and playing more local venues.

The chemistry among the members continues to grow in many ways outside the music.  We are all thankful for what we have.  Its about guitars and honesty.  This summer has found Alex achieving new heights with her word craft.  The lyrics have moved away from the idiom of personal struggle, and progressed to an exploration of a more serious introspection of profound dreams, the influence of things we cant see, and more importantly, a genuine respect for faith in people and goals that seem out of reach.

We march right behind her.  Alex's expanded vocal progressions have allowed the guitars to seek new depths.  While we still commit to our rolling atmospheric sounds, the melodies are getting more shapely and more pentatonic.  If you listen closely, you can hear voices in the backgrounds that we never intended.  Notes plied against free feedback and other notes, form songs within songs.  True, a sixth member plays with us from the rafters, and audiophiles and standard listeners are taking notice.  In addition, even the guitarists in Living Headless are switching instuments on some tracks, pushing our drive for a kaleidoscope of melody and energy, striving to keep up with tracks that seem to just 'show up' during practice sessions.

We are more organized now, and getting better.  Our equipment has got some upgrades, and our song writing is more organized.  We are attacking our instruments, yet remaining pure and precise. September will find us recording 12 new songs, which includes our best work to date.  Living Headless is getting more respect in the community.  The more shows we play, the more fans we get.

We are turning heads in a musically hostile part of the land.  Its not coming fast, nor easy.  I dont think I would have it any other way.  Every month that passes, we feel like we are moving forward-- like we have accomplished something sincere.  The more honest we are with the music that we want to write and play, the more powerful it becomes.

We should be doing at least two shows a month through the end of the year.  With heavy, frequent practice sessions, and the stress of recording..its going to be a busy Autumn. One of the hardest parts of original music is getting five people on the same page, mentally, and creatively.  Not only have we found our page, we found our book.

Our CD production budget has expanded.  If you want a free demo CD, leave an address on myspace.  You'll get one.

Dont miss the Chicago venue in November.  We are chartering a couple buses to move fans from Peoria to Chicago for a kick ass show with other hard hitting original acts:  Shadows Inc, Us Against Them, and Genovese Effect.   More details will be announced toward November.

Music heals everything.
